Dr. Saini's main research and teaching focus has been on Liver imaging with CT and MRI. Since 1987 he has received external funded for 26 projects serving as principal investigator on 20 of these. He has received numerous awards including the Lauterber Award from the CT/MR Society in 1987. Dr. Saini lectures regularly both nationally and internationally in fourteen such conferences in 2003 alone. He has published 190 articles in peer-reviewed journals since 1983 and recently co-authored a book on "MRI of the Liver" published in 2003.
