Call for Papers


Journal of Electronic Commerce in Organizations

Special Issue on Offshoring and Outsourcing

This special issue of the Journal of Electronic Commerce in Organizations is
designed to provide comprehensive coverage and understanding of the social, cultural, organizational, and cognitive impacts of e-commerce technologies and advances on organizations around the world who are implementing offshoring and outsourcing arrangements. These impacts can be viewed from the impacts on consumer behavior, as well as the impact on organizational behavior, development, and management in organizations. The secondary objective of this special issue is to expand the overall body of knowledge regarding the human aspects of offshoring and outsourcing, with regard to electronic commerce technologies and utilization in modern organizations, assisting researchers and practitioners to devise more effective systems for managing the human side of offshoring and outsourcing.

Papers are invited on all aspects of e-commerce and oragnizational issues related to offshoring.

These include (but are not limited to):
Offshoring strategic management
Offshoring management and leadership
Offshoring and organizational behavior
Offshoring and organizational development
Offshoring and organizational learning
Offshoring technologies and the workplace
Offshoring and employee ethical issues
Offshoring stress and strain impacts

Offshoring and customer behavior
Offshoring and customer relationships
Offshoring and national work force
Offshoring and political issues

SUBMISSIONS
Authors are requested to send FULL submission (with authors, title and abstract) as an email attachment to jeco@mit.edu by August 10, 2006. Preferred formats are PDF and PostScript (compressed with gzip or zip). Manuscripts must not exceed 8000 words and must be written in English and set in 10 or 11 point font.
